UK central to Finland incentives strategy

The Finland Convention Bureau is focusing on the UK incentive market. The bureau is planning three fam trips to Turku and the northern regions this spring to highlight the destination’s winter incentive potential. Finland Convention Bureau project manager Kerstin Träskman said: “We are focusing on the UK market as its incentive sector is strong and we want to raise the awareness of Finland’s product. “Furthermore, access will improve dramatically in March with the introduction of a twice-daily direct route from London Stansted to Helsinki by Blue1, a Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) carrier, so it is timely.” A summer promotion is also planned.“Finland is an exotic option for summer incentives,” Träskman added. “With golf being popular among corporates, we will be marketing our midnight sun period when players can enjoy golf 24 hours a day.” Indeprod creative business manager Simon Ashley organised an incentive event for the agency last year and continues to pitch Finland. “It provides the kind of alien landscape that many delegates have not experienced and the DMCs are outstanding.”
