T-Mobile and Rand in exclusive venue deal

T-Mobile (UK) has appointed Rand as its sole venue-finding agency. T-Mobile procurement manager Chris Birdsall said: “This agreement makes it more worthwhile for Rand. They get to know us better so that we can become more of a partnership.” Rand chairman Peter Rand said that the relationship has allowed his company to better understand T-Mobile’s business objectives and measurement criteria. “It’s helping us all to centralise spend and ultimately drive prices down for the company.” Meanwhile, T-Mobile has strengthened its events procurement department with the appointment of Hannah Spicer. Spicer takes on the role of events and incentive sourcing executive and replaces Kate Sandford, who has been taken on by Nokia in a procurement role. Spicer most recently worked for a multinational health organisation for whom she organised conferences for 25,000 and incentives for 4,000. She believes her experience will reassure suppliers whose pitches are being analysed by the T-Mobile procurement department. “I appreciate the time it takes to put these documents together,” she said.
