Park Plaza signs Amsterdam hotel

Park Plaza Hotels Europe has signed a management agreement with Parkvondel Hotel Real Estate B.V. to manage the former Ramada Hotel & Suites Amsterdam. The property will undergo a transformation to bring it in line with the Park Plaza Hotels brand, with refurbishment set to be completed by the end of 2006. The hotel is located at the Koninginneweg in one of the most picturesque quarters of Amsterdam, and offers breathtaking views over the city’s famous Vondelpark. Close to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Leidseplein and within easy reach of the A10 ring road, RAI convention centre and WTC, the hotel is only 20 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station by tram. Currently divided into three adjacent buildings, the property comprises 143 air-conditioned guestrooms in total. The villa part of the hotel boasts fully-equipped suites, each with kitchenette, living area and work space plus en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi. The remainder of the building offers superior and executive guestrooms, four function rooms, bar with open fireplace and terrace plus a breakfast room. This management agreement represents Park Plaza Hotels Europe’s second hotel in Amsterdam, the first being the monumental Victoria Hotel Amsterdam by Park Plaza, opposite Central Station. Victoria Hotel Amsterdam is also currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, due for completion mid 2006.
