THA wins Platinum Award at ITMA Awards

Thomas Hannah Associates (THA) UK and DNA Productions swept the board at last Friday’s 2006 ITMA Awards ceremony, winning eight awards in total including the coveted Platinum Award for best overall event. THA won the Platinum Award for its Jeep Cherokee International press launch for client DaimlerChrysler International, which also took gold for best product launch, best long-haul overseas event and the Automotive, Aerospace & Marine category. DNA Productions took four golds for three separate events, winning categories Best UK Event; Media and Entertainment, Travel and Leisure; Best Overseas Event (Short Haul); and Consumer Durables and Technology, beating such perennial winners as Grass Roots and P&.MM. At the same ceremony former BI Worldwide chairman David Hackett was honoured with the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award for his 32 years in the industry. In a speech, Eventia chairman Nigel Cooper confirmed that merged associations the ITMA and CEA will continue to hold their own awards ceremonies next year, with an ITM Awards focusing solely on overseas events and the CEA awards recognising events taking place in the UK.
