MCI identified as one of the fastest growing companies

European event management agency MCI is among Europe’s 500 fastest growing companies for the second year running. The agency appears in 138th place in the 2005 edition of Europe’s 500, the annual ranking of high-growth, job-creating companies – up six places on 2004. It is the highest ranked of the three companies in the event management sector. “Our position is a good sign for our clients that we are a reliable company growing at a sustainable rate,” said MCI marketing director Martti Wichmann. “It shows them that we are sound and safe and that we mean business. Appearing on the list will also help us to attract talent. We want the best staff serving our clients and this will show people that there are growth opportunities at MCI.” MCI’s expansion will continue this year with a range of global offices currently under consideration, following the opening of its Madrid and Berlin offices in 2005. The Singapore office will become fully integrated and the company is also looking at new branches in North and South America, Asia, the Middle East and north and central Europe. “It’s all about where our clients want us to be. While the business has performed well this year – we are forecasting gross margin to be 10-12% up on 2004 – it is not driving growth. Our clients are doing that.” The agency’s most recent win was for France Telecom, while Electrolux, L’Oréal, Johnson & Johnson and Renault are among its client portfolio. Association clients are demanding more of a long-haul presence, according to Wichmann. “Their global reach makes them more interested in Asia and the Americas, while corporate groups are increasingly interested in the Middle East,” he added. Europe’s 500 is published by Europe’s 500 Entrepreneurs for Growth and is intended to focus attention on fast-growing companies.
