Jamaica invites UK buyers to join fam trip

The Jamaica Tourist Board is bolstering its marketing campaign targeting the UK C&I industry as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. Initiatives include invitations to Jamex (Jamaica Meetings Expo), making it the first time that UK delegates have been asked to attend the fam trip that focuses on the island’s meetings facilities. Planners will be shown the island’s meetings and conference venues and its attractions and taught how to sell Jamaica as a C&I destination. Jamaica Tourist Board UK and Europe regional director Elizabeth Fox said: "We’ve never targeted the UK market before. Initially, we’ll measure success through feedback from our venues – they will tell us if business is on the up." Jamex will take place from 11-15 June at the Half Moon Hotel located in Montego Bay. There will be 18 places available to those planners who participated in the tourist board’s April roadshows in Milton Keynes, Leeds, Manchester and London. At Imex, the tourist office also released a CD-Rom, highlighting the island’s meetings facilities.
