Sector positive after the success of IMEX

IMEX 2004 pulled in more than 2,800 hosted buyers, an increase of 9% on last year. "Sentiment has been very positive, not only about IMEX but also the market’s future growth potential and that feeling is widespread," said show chairman Ray Bloom. Absolute Corporate Events account manager Debbie Bell attended the exhibition as a hosted buyer and rated it as "extremely beneficial". She said: "It was particularly interesting to make contact with the new and up-and-coming destinations such as Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia." Exhibitor space increased to 13,000m2 over two floors, with technology and media companies located on the lower level. "When I first saw our stand downstairs in the other hall, I thought that we would have a really quiet show," said Reftech director Ken Clayton. "However, in the end, I had very little time to visit the main hall as so many people came to our stand – I can’t imagine that it could have gone much better." In 2005, IMEX is slated to move to Hall 8, Messe Frankfurt’s largest single- floor hall, a year ahead of schedule to accommodate the burgeoning demand for space.
