BI awards reflect change in partnerships

BI is citing the presentation of awards from two of its suppliers as proof of a change in the nature of today’s business partnerships. The awards from BA and Starwood Hotels were made in recognition of the agency’s commitment to strategic suppliers through its "Partners in Success" programme. "We have of course placed a considerable volume of business with these companies over the last financial year, but I believe that’s only half the story," commented BI director of event management John Hooker. He said he believed the reciprocal nature of the awards was evidence of the strong relationships the company had built up with its suppliers in order to "deliver high quality solutions to clients". Hooker added: "It’s all about adopting a more flexible approach where we work together in efficient partnerships." Starwood global accounts director Karen van Rijn said the award was one of five presented to the hotel chain’s key accounts, and was made to "highlight the strengths in [our] relationship" and the way both parties "work towards achieving the best standards" for end users.
