Sol Melia overhauls C&I package

Sol Melia has rebranded its C&I package for event organisers as part of an overhaul of its meetings services. The hotel chain’s groups product is now called Meeting Sol Melia in a move aimed at raising brand awareness. The package has been expanded to include new services such as all-inclusive delegate packages and team-building activities. "The previous name didn’t mean much to clients outside Spain," said Sol Melia’s regional sales and marketing director for the UK, Elmar Wirtenberger. "This will boost Sol Melia’s profile and reflects a more comprehensive strategy," he added. The new programme will be rolled out at 32 of the group’s hotels worldwide viewed as being most suitable for the C&I market, including the White House in London. Staff at these properties will be required to undertake a training course that will result in them being awarded "MPI-style" certification.
