EMAB hands Hilton’s Taylor strategic role

Hilton UK & Ireland vice president of marketing Hugh Taylor has been appointed as non-executive chairman of the newly formed England Marketing Advisory Board (EMAB). EMAB was born out of VisitBritain and will focus on marketing England in the domestic and overseas markets. Taylor has been charged with providing a strategy focus and stresses C&I is a key part of the initiative. The body will seek to build up relationships between the public and private sector to boost English tourism. A strategy for business tourism will be put into place in the next few months. “The first marketing campaigns for general tourism have just started which will boost the image of the country,” said Taylor. “But together with private-sector partners we have identified business tourism needs more specialised marketing, which we hope to roll out before next year.”
