Malaysia aims for 10% growth in groups work

Tourism Malaysia is aiming to achieve 10% growth year on year in C&I business from the UK following an aggressive marketing strategy. Unveiled at Confex last month, the strategy coincides with the appointment of a dedicated C&I representative, Zailin Alwee at Tourism Malaysia’s London office. “To date, our efforts have mainly focused on selling Malaysia as a leisure destination, but, as Asia grows in popularity with incentive groups, we felt it was an appropriate time to target the UK C&I market,” Alwee said. Other initiatives include the publication of a C&I brochure, and roadshows to take place in major UK cities from April onwards.
