Nottingham fills C&I role deficit

Conference Nottingham and Profile Nottingham are to merge in a bid to create a unified tourism body for the region. Conference Nottingham is the city’s current C&I arm, while Profile Nottingham deals with leisure tourists. The new body is yet to be named but a launch date is set for early 2003. Conference Nottingham chair Colin Dix said: “Board members for the steering group have been appointed and we are currently looking for a CEO. One of the body’s main tasks is to target the C&I market.” The new body’s key objective is to emulate the success of the coordinated approach taken by cities such as Manchester and Birmingham.
