Sun South Africa profits from US terror switch

Sun International South Africa has reported a 60% increase in C&I business in the last year and is gearing up for an additional 40% rise in the next 12 months. Marketing manager, UK & Ireland, Theo Cromhout cited business switching from the US and Middle East to Africa following 11 September as a reason for the growth, as well as the increase in flights from Europe, freeing up UK capacity. “We’re now looking at working alongside top UK incentive agencies to discuss how our properties can offer value-added programmes,” he said. Sun International Hotels Limited, which split with the South African parent company last year, has rebranded to operate under the corporate name of Kerzner International.
