One to Watch: Diana Banks, Senior vice-president, sales and marketing, Utell Hotels & Resorts

- Why are we watching her?

Banks recently took on the role of senior vice-president, sales and marketing at Utell, one of the world's biggest hotel representation companies, with a portfolio of 3,600 hotels.

- What's her remit?

Utell introduced a strategy in March grouping together hotels in new collections, including one for meetings. This will be the first time it has focused on generating meetings business for its hotels and Banks will be heavily involved in the strategy, working with the five regions she oversees - Asia Pacific, Continental Europe, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, and the Americas.

- What's her background?

Banks brings more than 30 years of hotel industry experience to Utell. Most recently, she was director of sales and marketing for the Langham Hotel, London.
