We need to brush up on social skills

The privilege of being able to ring someone and say "Can I pick your brain for a minute?" is one that a lot of us take for granted, especially those of us who have been knocking around the industry for a few years. On countless occasions, another person's wisdom or experience has saved me hours of research and, once in a while, I've been in a position to return the favour. It's a well-worn cliche, but it really isn't what you know but who you know.
