Diary: Pooling resources

The Bournemouth International Centre may be one of the venues the spin-happy fraternity of UK politics head to of an autumn, but it's a safe bet that Teflon Tony et al have never hammered out agendas from the bottom of its pool. Not so the centre's hardy staff, who opted for a chlorine-scented brainstorming session during National Meetings Week. "Work had already started on our £18m expansion so the empty pool made the perfect venue," explained a spokesman, as a child in armbands crumpled into the shallow end.
