Bournemouth: The party choice

With its conference bureau approaching its first birthday and plans to extend the conference centre, Bournemouth is now more than a political party favourite, reports Matthew Batham. As this year's host destination for both the Conservative and Liberal Democrat annual conferences, once again Bournemouth demonstrates its status as a safe and well-established destination for large and high-profile events. Add to this its appeal to elderly holidaymakers and event organisers will be forgiven for thinking that the seaside town has a rather staid image - wrong.
