Madrid: Show of confidence

The Spanish capital is rather laid back in its approach to reassuring events organisers of its safety as a C&I destination, says Catherine Chetwynd, but it is still an attractive proposition After the devastation of the terrorist bombs that exploded recently during rush-hour Madrid, it would not be surprising if events organisers had been flooded with communications from the city's convention bureau and suppliers clamouring to provide reassurance. But the city gets mixed reviews of its attempts to overcome potential resistance and confirm its place on the C&I map.
