First Off: The star system for hotels is fading fast

The age-old debate on setting globally agreed standards for hotels through a star-rating system or similar was one of the main topics under discussion at the recent joint World Tourism Organisation and IH&RA (International Hotels and Restaurants Association) conference in Russia. Delegates called on governments to review and update their regulatory measures relating to the hotel sector. The issue as far as the C&I industry is concerned is that while hotels often promise meetings organisers the earth, too few actually deliver.
