The Caribbean: Coming of age

The islands of the Caribbean are presenting new opportunities for events and incentives, says Mark Hillsdon, allowing groups to choose year-round sunshine and improved facilities. Fifteen years ago, function space in the Caribbean was a scarce commodity, mainly limited to the hub islands of Jamaica, Barbados and the Bahamas. But with the introduction of full-service resorts, event planners can now take advantage of venues that have excellent facilities. And with a flight time of just eight hours, year-round sunshine and new venues appearing all the time, the Caribbean is enjoying a surge of popularity.
