VENUE FOCUS: Scottish attraction becomes a unique venue

The Falkirk Wheel recently launched as a conference and events venue, following its official opening in May 2002. The world's first and only rotating boat lift is situated 45 minutes from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Its meeting facilities accommodate up to 300 delegates, while a marquee overlooking the wheel has space for 1,000. Smaller events can be catered for on a fleet of boats on the adjoining canal network. The contemporary venue, centred around a 35 metre-high steel boat lift, has won awards from tourism, architecture and engineering bodies.
