VENUE FOCUS: Modern conference centre opened in France

The Bordeaux Conference Centre was officially inaugurated in September and features a 3000 sq m multipurpose area. Described as a "palace of glass, light and technology", the c27.5m (£19.2m) development has been designed to complement the existing business tourism potential of the Aquitaine region's capital. It features three auditoriums - the largest of which can accommodate 1,360 - as well as smaller committee rooms, translation booths, video-conferencing facilities, a large reception area and a panoramic bar. The venue is situated close to several major hotels and restaurants.
