Venue of the week - The RuMa Hotel & Residences

Well-equipped for meetings and events in Kuala Lumpur, RuMa Hotels & Residences is a member of Leading Hotels of the World.

The RuMa opened in November 2018 as Urban Resort Concepts’ (URC) first venture outside of China.

Its position in the heart of the Golden Triangle makes it ideally located for MICE events while being the only member of Leading Hotels of the World in Kuala Lumpur assures that those staying at the hotel do so in luxury.

For corporate events and meetings, there is a variety of spaces. On the mezzanine floor, two adjacent meeting rooms, Bilik I & II, are ideal for private dining events and a fully equipped boardroom, Bilik III, is perfect for business meetings.

On the 6th floor, SANTAI Pool Bar and Lounge boasts 380 square metres of open-air, sun-lit space. The Pavilion pre-function and meeting room with kitchen offer 66 square metres and 75 square metres, respectively, and can be used separately or together.

Meanwhile, the boardroom on floor 6A proposes a further 46 square metres of space; all rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology. A dedicated events manager is on hand to assist with any event personalisation, be it specially curated menus, space design and audio-visual assistance.

The 253 guest rooms and suites have been designed to weave the local with the contemporary, and many boast awe-inspiring views of the Petronas Towers.

There is 24-hour check-in and check-out, a fully stocked complimentary minibar, best-in-class Wi-Fi everywhere in the hotel, secretarial services and use of meeting rooms for up to two hours. All of this is part of CEO Markus Engel’s vision to put an end to petty charges and undue bureaucracy that doesn’t serve guests’ needs.

As well as ample meetings and event spaces, the hotel is home to an exquisite Malaysian eatery, ATAS, headed by Executive Chef Tyson Gee, who has just launched an exciting new menu.

SEVEN Lobby Bar and Lounge and the SANTAI Pool Bar and Lounge are relaxed dining options serving snacks, light meals, drinks and in SEVEN, afternoon tea. Alongside the showstopping cantilevered sixth-floor pool, is the hotel’s UR SPA where those on a tight schedule can choose from a selection of 30-minute express treatments or fully unwind by opting for a Core Therapy.

Recognised as the finest traditional gentlemen’s barber, a Truefitt & Hill barbers is also housed on this level.
