What is the most valuable skill for an event manager?

A pleasing poll for personable people - what do you consider to be your greatest asset when running events?

In a Twitter poll, we asked what is the most valuable skill for an event manager?

Is it your patience, passion, problem-solving or people-skills? If you add perseverance, perfectionism and a placid disposition to the options, it seems like the letter P plays a big part in running events.

We took to Twitter to pose this puzzling poll to you and see what the most profitable proficiency for an event professional is (I’ll stop with the p-words now). With 41% of the vote, people-skills was the winner, proving that a personable (okay, just one more) disposition is all-important. In second place was problem-solving, voted for by a logical 38% of you.

Next up was passion, which got 11% of the vote and patience, which received 10% of the vote. So next time someone asks you what it’s like being an event manager, just tell them it’s perfectly painless if you possess the four Ps.
