Agency event planners gathered in Northern Ireland this week for two days of talks, meetings and networking, hosted by ICC Belfast hosted the event directly after the Corporate Summit.
When delegates arrived on Wednesday evening they were taken for an open-top bus tour of Belfast, stopping at the Peace Wall and then onward to the Titanic Museum. Everyone was given time to explore the museum before heading up to the top floor for dinner in a ballroom with an exact reproduction of the Titanic’s grand staircase.
The first day began with Dr Suzie Imber, an associate professor of planetary science at the University of Leicester, giving a fascinating talk on the possibilities of space travel for incentives.
That was followed by a panel discussion called ‘How to hit a homerun on all your pitches’ with four senior event planners from UK agencies. The day continued with further content sessions and one-to-one meetings with suppliers before the evening’s entertainment at the Dark Horse in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.
There was plenty of live music and street food, with guests invited to pour their own Guinness and draw a shamrock on top.
The next morning, everyone was invited to shake away the cobwebs by David Meade, with a talk on the psychology of extraordinary performance.
