European luxury hotel group, Kempinski Hotels, is expanding in the Americas with The Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica due to open in October 2019. This will be Dominica’s first-ever five-star resort.
The resort has 151 guestrooms and suites, from deluxe and superior rooms to suites, two-bedroom duplexes and villas.
The 426 square metre Presidential Villa has a butler service, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dining room, a private spa and an outdoor dining terrace with a private pool. A private chef is also available upon request.
Michael Schoonewagen, general manager, Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica, said: "This property will give travellers the chance to experience Dominica like never before by bringing together the timeless opulence of Kempinski with the destination’s pristine, untouched landscape."
The 1,672 square metre Kempinski Spa features indoor and outdoor wellness experiences, with natural treatments inspired by local culture.
Three restaurants feature local and international cuisine as well as 'farm-to-table' and 'sea-to-table' dining. The Kweoyl Beach Café provides a unique spin on the traditional Creole beach bar, with a sea view.
The resort offers 743 square metres of indoor and outdoor event space, including beach, pool and lawn venues, three meeting rooms, a boardroom and an outdoor amphitheatre.
Surrounded by Cabrits National Park, and next to Douglas Bay Beach, the resort is committed to protecting the island ecosystem.
Dominica is largely covered by mountains and tropical rainforest, with three national parks, two forest reserves and the Syndicate Parrot Reserve.
