ILEA gets new president and board

The International Live Events Association welcomes a new leadership team and sets out goals for 2019-20.

ILEA UK president Carlo Zoccali has handed over the presidency to Cecilia Lavin of Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events. Lavin was ILEA UK's vice president - membership for the year 2018-19.

Zoccali, of Farnborough International ECC, will take on the supportive role of ILEA’s Immediate Past President.

The new programmes & education team includes Salesforce’s Claire O’Neill, Student’s Veronica Mancha Chacon, Partridge Events’ Jacqui Partridge and Professional Training Solutions’ Nigel Arkieson.

The Marcomms team now includes Cvent’s Jeremy Vilquin and Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events’ Zsanett Sedro.

Priya Narain of Boulevard Events will sit on ILEA’s membership team, and Mark Maher of the same company will continue as wellbeing advisor. C&IT’s commercial director Rob Aldhouse is now in charge of international engagement.

Sledge’s Sarah Yeats was introduced as VP membership. Existing board members Luci Beaufort of Hyphen, and C&IT editor Calum Di Lieto, will continue as VP programmes and education and VP marcomms respectively.

Lavin set out the 2019-20 vision for ILEA "to be an inclusive and inspiring global community that develops and engages event professionals."

The team aims to create beneficial partnerships for its members and partners, with a focus on membership engagement and becoming a growth catalyst for professional and personal development.

Members are encouraged to participate in the new 'ILEA ideas' scheme, which aims to help members achieve their professional goals.
