Profits soar for healthcare event agency

Ashfield Meetings & Events says investment in creative teams has fuelled impressive end of year profits.

Healthcare event management agency, Ashfield Meetings & Events, has provided end of year financial results which show that its operating profits increased by £1.3m, from £1,688,902 in 2017 to £3,036,460 in 2018 – an increase of nearly 80%.

The agency’s year on year turnover is consistent with the prior year, £28.2m in 2018 versus £28.4m in 2017.

Ashfield, which is part of UDG Healthcare PLC, grew its creative and production teams in 2018. This move aimed to support increased interest from clients using its live event experience capabilities, including the business’s increasingly successful exhibits division which won silver at the 2019 World Exhibition Stand Awards.

in 2018, Ashfield organised over 2500 events across 50 countries and managed the attendance of over 141,000 delegates.

"Overall we are extremely pleased with our end of year results as they accurately reflect our business strategy," said Global MD, Nicola Burns.

"Clients are increasingly recognising the strength of our creative services, production and exhibit offerings, as well as our outstanding logistics support which is more well-known in the industry.

She added that the investment in in-house expertise was "vital" to the year’s success, and that the agency is keen to build on this momentum by broadening its new and existing client partnerships.
