The first-ever C&IT Surgery took place in June at etc. venues Monument in London, with event professionals from all corners of the industry enjoying a day of panels, intimate 'surgery' roundtables and networking.

Ian Houghton and Dan Brain, co-founders of MAD/Fest kickstarted the day with a session on getting the most out of industry events.

Content sessions included discussions on sustainability, the invisible workload, event marketing, personalisation and the event experience.

During the discussion on personalisation, Kim Myhre, managing director of MCI Experience said: "People are complicated. Gut instinct is not insight. A new discipline is required to create human-centric experiences and that is personalisation."

If you weren't able to make it, dont worry! C&IT are realeasing a series of white papers with our key takeaways on each of the topics discussed. Keep your eyes peeled on the hub for more information.
