Event planners from the north of England gathered at the ACC Liverpool for C&IT's inaugural event.

C&IT hosted its inaugural Northern Forum at the ACC Liverpool from 25 to 26 April. Day one was dedicated to a corporate audience and day two was aimed at agencies.

Day one opened with a panel on personalisation vs privacy, followed by a keynote on breathing new life into recurring events. Lunch was followed by a session on being creative with budgets, with the day rounded off by a panel on inclusivity.

After a quick chance to freshen up in the hotel, delegates were transported to Liverpool Cathedral, a spectacular venue of epic proportions with towering ceilings and intricate stained glass windows. A champagne reception gave way to an impressive beginning to the gala dinner- guests walked through the main chapel which was lit by candles, as an organ was played.

Tables were set up for dinner, bathed in magenta light- C&IT's brand colour. A three-course meal featured burrata, chicken on the bone and a white chocolate sphere with raspberry sauce. Red and white wine flowed throughout.

Day two began with a 'body rap' icebreaker, where delegates used their hands, knees and chests as percussion instruments.

Content sessions included a panel on becoming an event strategist, reinventing the way we network and a closing keynote on talent recruitment.
