Rome wins bid to host 2021 IAPCO Annual Meeting

The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers will meet in the Italian capital.

The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) Annual Meeting will be held in Rome in 2021.

The bid for the event was led by a team made up of Ega Worldwide Congress and Events, AIM Group International and OIC Group.

Cristina Aru of Ega said, adding: "Rome hosted the IAPCO Annual Meeting in 1976: they were pioneer times for the meetings industry and for our new-born profession.

"Of course, many things have developed since then and we will be sharing with our colleagues a real 'Roman Experience' from the historic to the modern era."

It is hoped the event will offer many "memorable experiences" for IAPCO attendees.

Patrizia Semprebene Buongiorno, AIM Group International said: "Rome is not only art, fantastic architecture, monuments and museums, it is lifestyle, it is traditions, it’ s all about making even the most ordinary extraordinary.

"Our IAPCO colleagues will certainly find that while the city’s past is awe-inspiring, its present is equally invigorating, and we are looking forward to enjoying with them our city and a unique general assembly."
