WEBWATCH: Guernsey raises awareness

Conference Guernsey, the marketing group formed last year by suppliers on the island, has launched a website for conference buyers - www.conferenceguernsey.gg. It aims to raise awareness of what the island can offer the groups market and includes a list of members and services.

An overview of the history and sights of Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm is further accompanied by details about accessibility, accommodation and facilities. All the member hotels are listed by their star-rating.

By clicking on the hotel name, contact details, room layouts and the capacities for individual properties are called up.

Alternative venues, such as the Beau Sejour Centre, are also featured under the Facilities and Services menu, along with information on the local conference services, suppliers and event organisers. Using the Quick Directory, which lists all the members that appear on the site on one page, ensures it is easy to search for a specific member.

On the site there are details of UK airports offering flights to Guernsey, as well as information on the various ferry services. These are featured alongside a map of the island, which shows the location of the main towns in relation to the airport. Furthermore, an online enquiry form is also available for buyers wishing to discover more about a venue or service or even to check availability.

There are regular news updates posted on the site and there is also a link to the Guernsey Tourist Board's website so organisers can research the area in more detail.
