For a winning bid pick two from 'good, fast and cheap'

An expert panel at the C&IT US Forum examined why a clear client profile and good brief can prevent a lot of wasted time.

A panel of experts at C&IT's US Forum discussed bids and briefs and why it's important to ask about what you want delegates to take away from an event.

The panel included Bank Sadler’s director of production Jon Coventry, C&IT editor Calum Di Lieto, ConferenceDirect conference manager Bonnie Doucher and Crescendo's engagement director Russell Allen.

Coventry said: "There are the classic three circles of good, fast and cheap – and [you have to] pick two. Whether you are a DMC or an agency, there are absolutely very high expectations - what do you have to give way on?

Coventry added: "Do you rehash an idea or a programme because you have somebody saying ‘I need something by the end of today please’? Well, of course, you are not going to get some beautiful in-depth stuff. So you pay your money, you take your time, you make your choice."
