AOK Events Group has signed an agreement to acquire event agency Melon.

The acquisition was prompted by what AOK described as Melon's "extremely loyal client base" as well as "outstanding customer service and an unblemished track record" in delivering memorable events.

Melon has more than 13 years' experience in the business and has been growing year-on-year.

CEO of the AOK Events Group, Alex Hewitt: "We have been looking to grow AOK Creative, our live events team, for a while and Melon is the perfect fit.

"Melon has a wonderful roster of clients who we will help nurture and introduce to our other event services, as well as a prop hire business that we will be looking to grow."

Melon Events founder Lucinda Baldwin said: "The synergy between the two companies became clear very early on in our discussions, and their desire to keep the Melon brand signifies the relevance of this acquisition to their plans for growth within the industry."

Event management company AOK Events Group has five core services including live events, venue finding, hospitality, sponsorship and event technology.
