George P. Johnson (GPJ) has hired Marcos Ribeiro as vice president, global executive creative director, for the IBM account.
Based in GPJ’s New York office, Ribeiro will be responsible for leading global creative efforts for IBM, as well as expanding the local team in the U.S.
Before GPJ, Ribeiro spent more than a decade working with IBM as a creative lead while at Ogilvy & Mather. Throughout his career, he has worked with Fortune 100 Companies and brands including IBM, Dove, AMEX, Fiat and Huggies.
Ribeiro said: "I couldn’t be more thrilled to return to IBM creative, now at GPJ. With IBM, it’s all about connecting audiences to complex themes in a digestible and engaging way. Experiential marketing has such promise in this area, and I’m honored to join the GPJ team, which has pushed the category forward and only continues to innovate after so many years."
Chris Meyer, CEO of GPJ added: "We are truly fortunate to have such a veteran creative join our ranks. Not only does Marcos have experience across many brands, but he also brings an impressive history of working with IBM on a global scale.
"We’re excited for him to bring our work with them to the next level, both abroad and in the U.S."
