Agency CEO promises staff extra day off if England win the World Cup

emc3 boss Alistair Graham makes pledge ahead of England's clash with Sweden on Saturday.

The CEO of events agency emc3 has promised his staff an extra day off every year if England win the World Cup.

Alistair Graham made the pledge during the wave of football fever that’s sweeping the country, after the national team won it’s first ever World Cup penalty shootout against Colombia on Tuesday night.

If England win the final, which takes place on Sunday 15 July, every third Monday in July from this year forward will become an official company holiday.

When asked why he made this pledge, Graham said: "I’ve always felt as though we need a few more bank holidays in the UK. We’re one of the countries with the fewest in the world. And what better excuse is there to introduce a new holiday than England winning a World Cup?

"If England do go on to win the World Cup, it’ll be a day to remember. Most people will want to go out and celebrate. My team work unbelievably hard all year round and deserve a few surprises."
