Accommodation

Stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern. After a recent renovation, the hotel retains its history with foundations dating back to 1859. The elegant original features are combined with contemporary design and state-of-the-art additions to make for a 5-star stay.

The Schweizerhof offers 99 rooms and suites with views over Bern or the quiet courtyard. The hotel also houses a 500m2 spa with a gym, multiple saunas, a pool, hammam and five treatment rooms in an underground space that was a jazz club before the renovation. Eat at Jack’s Brasserie for Schweizerhof’s famous schnitzel. After a meal indoors, follow with a drink on the Sky Terrace offering views of Bern. Look out for the beehives on the roof that produce organic honey for use in the hotel!

Meetings and events spaces

Situated directly opposite Bern’s main train station, The Schweizerhof is an ideal place for events hosting international corporate groups. The 350m2 Salon Trianon Ballroom can accommodate up to 300 people and the smaller Salon rooms are ideal for groups ranging from 30 - 50 people. All rooms have natural daylight and are fitted with all the technology you might need. The Sky Terrace is also available for breakfast meetings, business lunches or cocktail parties in the evening.

Elsewhere in Bern, The Kursaal is the ideal venue for events. Comprising of the 4-star superior Hotel Allegro, multiple restaurants, bars and the Grand Casino Bern, the centre has a lot to choose from. The Kursaal offers 30 rooms for congresses, seminars and meetings with capacity from 2 people to 1,500. The Forum expands over 2000m2 with an expansive glass facade offering views over the historic old town and the snow-capped mountains. With more than 800 LED lights in the ceiling, the lighting can be changed to suit every event. The five Bellavista rooms also offer panoramic views and can be combined to seat 200 people in a variety of setups.

Activites

Switzerland’s capital is a UNESCO world heritage town with historic monuments and museums including the clock tower (Zytglogge), the parliament building and the BearPark. Take in the sights of the beautiful town on a guided scooter tour to see the home of Lindt and the Aare river with its famous urban swimming. Stop off to see the apartment where Albert Einstein developed his theory of relativity in the hope of some of your own scientific inspiration!
