'We installed a surf machine in Broadgate - the first time this had been done in London'

A-List 2018 profile: Kate Denny, 33, senior account director at Rapiergroup.

What kind of events do you work on?

Press launches, training, conferences and incentives in UK and Europe.

What is your motto for success?

Carpe diem, because I believe in living in the moment and focusing on the present rather than worrying about the past or future.

What's been the highlight of your career so far?

One event that stands out is the Naked Juice Urban Surf campaign for Pepsi Co. The concept required a surf machine to be installed in Broadgate, which is the first time this had ever been done in London.

What do you hope to achieve before you're 40?

I’d like to surround myself with inspirational people, and continue to have a good work-life balance whilst achieving successful events with happy clients.

What would be your dream event to work on?

A large charity event that makes a difference to people’s lives.

If you could pick anyone to be your keynote speaker, who would it be?

Walt Disney because he’s an icon. He was extremely creative and full of imagination and I’d be interested to hear his story and where his inspiration came from.

What job would you be doing if you weren't in events?

I’d like to be a food critic because it’s combining my two passions which are travelling and eating.
