The team behind the C&IT Awards also had reason to celebrate after the annual events industry prize-giving ceremony picked up a bronze award.

Shane Atkinson, event manager for the C&IT Awards said: "We’re all thrilled to have received a bronze award at the Awards Awards on Friday! It really was a team effort from all involved and we already have our sights set on gold for 2019."

A highlight of the 2018 ceremony was the honouring of the British Curry Awards founder Enam Ali with the Awards Professional of the Year title.

Rory Ross Russell, co-founder of the Awards Awards said: "In spite of some quarters – Private Eye & Stephen Fry to name just two – mocking the idea of running an awards for awards people we feel the success of the 2018 ceremony vindicates our decision. We were delighted to have so many entries and the winners showcase what a vibrant and dynamic sector the awards market is".
