Sea Containers Events marked its first year of operations by holding a birthday party at one of its most popular event spaces, Cucumber, near Southwark.

Attendees were treated to a tongue-in-cheek take on a first birthday party with a DJ, magician and glitter face painting, along with a party bag including bubbles and retro sweets.

Food and drink highlights included a rum punch bar, poké (fish salad) station and canapés such as ginger and garlic prawn with wasabi and citrus dipping sauce. There was also an enormous birthday cake made by the in-house baker.

John Nugent, Green & Fortune’s chief executive said: "I can’t believe it’s been a year since we launched Sea Containers Events to the world.

"The party was a great opportunity to thank those clients who we’ve worked with over the last 12 months, as well as showcase the venue to those we are yet to work with. The event the embodies the creativity within the team we have on-board."
