Organisers of International Confex have confirmed that the recent bad weather saw the exhibition with around 2,000 fewer visitors compared to last year

Described as the worst weather conditions in 30 years, more than 5,000 event professionals braved the snow to do business with the 223 exhibitors.

Event director Liz Agostini said that the snow meant that there was a "lack of time wasters" which led to "meaningful business conversations."

"Clearly there were a lot of good people that couldn’t come, but also a few tyre kickers as well," Liz Agostini said.
