Norwegian Air has begun flying from London Gatwick to Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport four times a week, providing a low-cost route to South America for travellers.

"Our first flight to Buenos Aires from the UK marks another milestone for Norwegian," said Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos.

"As our first South American route takes off, it is also a first step towards ambitious plans for international and domestic growth in Argentina, ahead of flights to Chicago and Austin from London Gatwick next month."

It has also been reported that Norwegian is "exploring the potential of" low-cost direct flights between the UK and Australia.
