As part of the reshuffle, client officer Barry Richards becomes European CEO for 18 months, while London managing director Mark Riches moves to a non-executive director role.

First chairman Peter Godfrey said: "In her new role, Maureen will be instrumental in continuing to nurture and protect our close-knit culture that we and our clients value so much.

"The board feels strongly that this new organisational structure positions us for continued success in this exciting period for First, and will bring even greater alignment and engagement between our operating regions in the US, Europe and Asia."

First reports transformational and exponential growth, with the recent acquisition of UK based experiential and creative agency Clive, which has offices in London and Dublin, and the 2016 acquisition of creative agency BKA in the US.

First has offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and Singapore.
