Avani Muscat Hotel to open in 2020

Minor Hotels latest property will be located in Seeb and contain a ballroom and eight meeting rooms.

Minor Hotels has put pen to paper on a deal with Safari International Group for a new Avani hotel to be developed in the Oman capital Muscat.

Scheduled to open in 2020, the Muscat Hotel will be located in the prime residential area of Seeb to the west of the city, 15 minutes’ drive from Muscat International Airport.

Minor Hotels CEO Dillip Rajakarier said: "Seeb is already a key residential area in Muscat, which as the city grows westwards will become a significant hub and we are confident AVANI will represent a great fit in this fast developing neighbourhood."

It will be connected by a sky bridge to the upcoming Al Araimi Boulevard Mall, which is being developed and is scheduled to open in 2018 with more than 250 retail and dining outlets, a medical centre and a 10-screen cinema complex.

The first phase will create 160 guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, an AVANI Pantry, rooftop lounge, swimming pool, health club and a 1,000 sqm ballroom and eight meeting rooms.

The second phase, which will begin two years after the main hotel opens, will offer 90 serviced apartments including studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, and two 175 sqm three-bedroom apartments.
