Experts will gather at the Provincial Court in the medieval market square to discuss the partial replacement of worn-out or arthritic knee joints.

It will be the first time the event has taken place in the Belgian city. It has previously been held on the coast in Knokke.

Professor Dr. Emmanuel Thienpont from Cliniques universitaires Saint Luc-UCL, Brussels, Belgium, said: "It is our great honour to organise this fabulous meeting in Bruges. We’ll have the best partial knee surgeons from all over the world gathering in Bruges. The city offers culture, history and accommodation of the highest level.

"The help we received from the professional team at Meeting in Brugge was the icing on the cake. Their experience and insights made the organisation of this event run smoother and faster. We are already thinking about planning the next edition in Bruges too."

Sarah Cornand, sales manager at Meeting in Brugge, added: "Bruges has so much to offer for medical conferences, with all the medical heritage in our city. We’re very excited Professor Dr. Emmanuel Thienpont chose Bruges as the destination for the Partial Knee Meeting."
