G Hotel Gurney in Penang, Malaysia has recently completed a £6.4 million makeover, unveiling a modern and fresh new look with chic lobby, contemporary bedrooms and sophisticated meeting rooms.

The hotel also adds an additional five function rooms named Conference I – V with natural daylight and Herman Miller designer work chairs. There are now nine meeting rooms and two ballrooms, which are fully equipped with Bose sound systems, large LED screens, refined linens and unique mood lightings.

The 312-room property is located between two renowned shopping malls, Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon, and right next to the famous Gurney Drive hawker eateries.

"Our convenient location is the perfect point of departure for discovering Penang’s numerous tourist attractions, UNESCO World Heritage sites and beaches," said Michael Hanratty, general manager of G Hotel.

The award-winning glass lobby has Italian designer furniture, while rooms feature Camerich lifestyle furnishings, Serta Royal Platinum Mattresses, 300 thread count linens, Herman Miller designer work chairs, 55 inch smart HD LED TVs, Appelles eco-friendly toiletries, free non-alcoholic minibar and 150Mbps high speed Wi-Fi in all rooms and throughout the hotel.
