Top five experiences in Canada

Visiting the best place in the world for polar bears, chasing the Northern Lights and staying at the world's edge - Canada's incentive options are world-class and simply unbeatable.

Once-in-a lifetime Arctic adventures

The tiny town of Churchill on Hudson Bay is the place to go to on many a bucket list. It’s not only the best place in the world to view polar bears, but is also known as the beluga whale capital of the world and if that’s not enough, it’s also a top destination for Northern Lights viewing. Whatever the season, groups will have the experience of a lifetime - the Lights are best seen between September to November and also February and March, while from mid-October, there are likely to be more polar bears in Churchill than there are residents. In the summer, groups can get tantalisingly close to beluga whales on kayaking or snorkeling trips. Guests can also indulge in ‘Raw Churchill’, a gourmet dining experience in an historic trading fort, inspired by Hudson Bay trappers.

Nature with a difference

Get away from it all in the glorious wild, and combine this with luxury elements at the Relais & Chateaux Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on the western coast of British Columbia’s Vancouver Island. The venue, which can be hired exclusively, can only be reached via seaplane or boat, providing a sense of adventure from the start. Groups of up to 70 can stay in opulent safari tents, enjoying a protected biosphere environment, with activities including kayaking, killer and Humpback whale viewing and hiking through ancient rainforests.

Scale new heights

Canada is known for its majestic mountain ranges. Enjoy a range of incentives in the summer months at Banff, reached in 90 minutes from Calgary and Whistler, a scenic two-hour drive from Vancouver. Relax in the spas at luxurious resort hotels or enjoy a round of golf on world-class courses; more active groups can hike along mountain trails and explore the area with mountain bikes or all-terrain vehicles.

Travel to the edge of the world

For a boutique experience like no other, stay at the 29-room Fogo Island Inn, in the furthest corner of Northwest Newfoundland - literally perched on the edge of the Atlantic. Feast on fresh lobster and take a guided hike to the top of Brimstone Head, known as one of the ‘four corners of the earth’. The inn can be hired exclusively, with late May during iceberg season one of the best times to visit, when groups can view floating icebergs.

A ski experience like no other

With their location in the heart of the Rockies, and renowned as one of Canada’s best skiing destinations, expect phenomenal snow conditions at Banff and Lake Louise. Unlike other skiing destinations, however, the two resorts are within Canada’s oldest national park - meaning there is wildlife everywhere, much of which can be spotted on your way down the slopes. Discover other winter-themed incentives too, such as mushing a dogsled team, a torchlight ski parade or a fondue-themed dining experience.
