Singapore wins bid to host Rotary International Convention 2024

Singapore is set to host the Rotary International Convention in 2024, the largest association congress the nation has hosted.

Singapore won the provisional bid to host the Rotary International Convention - it would be the second time the country has hosted the event.

More than 25,000 Rotary members from around the world are expected to attend.

Singapore Tourism Board chief executive Lionel Yeo said: "Singapore’s vibrant knowledge economy and focus on innovation make it the ideal platform for Rotarians to exchange ideas and spark off new possibilities on how to transform the world.

"Much has changed in Singapore since the convention was last held here, and we are continually improving on what we have. I am confident that come 2024, Rotarians from around the world will enjoy a fruitful time at, as well as beyond the convention."

The Rotary convention, which takes place in a different city around the world each year, was last held in Singapore in 1999 with around 19,000 participants.
