CWT M&E appoints head of operations

Carlson Wagonlit Travel Meetings and Events has appointed Sharon Burrell as head of operations, UK&I & Benelux.

In her new role, Burrell will provide leadership, direction and support to the operations teams across all client and industry sectors. She will focus on growing the business within UK&I and Benelux while supporting the initiatives of the global operations team.

She has spent more than 25 years in the events industry, holding the role of head of events for 12 years at Procon Conferences Ltd. Since 2004 she has worked as a freelance global conference and exhibition director within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, automotive and retail sectors.

Burrell will report to Paul Stoddart, managing director UK&I & Benelux.

Stoddart said: "I am delighted to welcome Sharon to our team. She brings a wealth of live events knowledge and expertise to further strengthen our proposition in this area. Her experience in delivering large-scale congress will be particularly welcome to several of our global pharmaceutical clients."
