National Museums Liverpool is set to launch a brand new events space at one of its flagship venues in the city.
World Museum, situated in Liverpool’s beautiful neoclassical cultural quarter, will open its new events space in November.
With a capacity of 150 for dinner, and 200 for a drinks reception, the space can also be opened up to include an area of the Museum previously unseen by the public, along with the venue’s stunning Atrium, to extend numbers beyond 300 guests.
With integrated technology and facilities, the space will make a feature of the original architecture of the grand examination hall, once part of the Technical School of Liverpool, which opened in 1901.
"This historic space is now being used during the day as a brand new café, so we have already seen what a fantastic impact it has had on visitors," said Katie Roberts, head of events for National Museums Liverpool.
The launch event, taking place in early November, is inspired by the novel Around the World in Eighty Days and will see guests enjoying canapés from different continents, live entertainment and drinks. ‘Travel excursions’ around the Museum will also be available throughout the night, allowing guests to explore the likes of Ancient Egypt and outer space on small, private tours.
